Time has been flying by, and I'm losing track of week numbers. Still no midterms yet, can't believe it! Loving this semester schedule. Went home for the weekend and caught the Lynbrook Homecoming football game! Don't know any of the students anymore, but it's cool to see how traditions stay the same but with small twists to them.

First and foremost, homecoming was held on our home turf! The football stadium is very similar to Cupertino's but newer and nicer. A slightly smaller seating section was filled up perfectly and even sectioned off so that Freshmen through Seniors had their own places to sit together. And of course, the Valks Potatoes were still on sale. Going back to see the culmination of Homecoming reminded me of going to back to visit Disneyland back in April after an 8-year hiatus. It was a novelty, nostalgic, and a felt a bit out of place.

Class projects are starting to ramp up and I'm excited to start building a web-app for doctors to access CellScope images! Images are pretty beefy assets so I'll hopefully get to learn a bit about how to optimize load speeds.

Last weekend I got to go to Tahoe with the Bioengineering department! Going out and hiking in the woods was very relaxing and calming and the lake was beautiful.

So I found out that people here don't keep track of the weeks here! At Berkeley, 15-week long semesters make keeping track of time too much of a hassle!

Last week was career fair week. Passed up resumes, landed some interviews, and the job hunt continues! I'm learning about new companies out there every week it seems!

I've also been placed into my capstone design team, where I'll be working in the Dan Fletcher Lab on a medical imaging platform interfacing iOS with the web.

The UCSF quarter has finally began! Things were kicked off with Health Care finance this morning, bright and early at 9 AM. Got to have a delicious lunch with high school buddy Scott at Clinkle afterwards.

In my "anti-med" class we had a talk from Anvita Health CEO
Ahmed F. Ghouri about how his company is developing data analytics tools with Hadoop to crunch billions of data points in order to identify misdiagnoses, unsafe prescriptions, and at-risk of based on  medication compliance, patient history, and eventually genetics. Fascinating stuff! Anvita was also recently acquired by medical insurance giant Humana.

In embedded systems, I've formed a project team! We're looking into making a motion tracking wristband that can connect to and control basic functions on a computer using Bluetooth Low Energy. As always, more to come!
